M04A · Problem 13 ★★ Check

Reading participant-wise OI

Use the NSE participant-wise OI tables for 27 Oct 2026 and 5 Nov 2026 in 4A.5.3 and the raw file for 27 Oct (FII index calls long 400,767, short 693,842; index puts long 864,775, short 296,849). (a) Compute the FII long share and net position in index futures on both dates, and the Client long share on 27 Oct. (b) Verify the long–short identity for index futures on 27 Oct. (c) Compute FII net index calls and net index puts on 27 Oct, and explain why these numbers do not tell you whether FIIs were bullish or bearish.
