Computing a NAV

At the close an equity scheme holds equity worth ₹842.60 cr, cash and government securities of ₹31.75 cr and a dividend receivable of ₹2.15 cr. It owes ₹12.40 cr for securities bought and ₹3.80 cr of redemptions; 38.25 cr units are outstanding. Its expense ratio is 1.10%, accrued daily on net assets before the day's charge, with 365 days a year (illustrative). (a) Compute net assets before the day's fee, the day's fee accrual in ₹ lakh, and the NAV. (b) If the portfolio's gross return were zero every day for a year, by what percentage would the NAV fall through fee accrual alone? Compare with 1−e−c1 - e^{-c}. (c) An investor's ₹2,00,000 purchase is accepted at this NAV. How many units does she receive after stamp duty of 0.005%?
